After two performances at The Metropolitan Room to enthusiastic audiences, Kevin Burke will do two more encore performances of his new solo cabaret show, “I Love To See You Smile!” at Don’t Tell Mama on Friday, August 22, 2014 and Saturday, September 27 at 7pm. This event marks Kevin’s second foray into a solo cabaret show. The first, “You Got A Friend in Me” was presented in 2012 and 2013 at the Laurie Beechman Theatre and the legendary Don’t Tell Mama to great praise. The show is produced by Manhattan Cabaret Arts and Miguel Pedraza-Cumba; special musical arrangements by Marilyn Maye.
“I Love To See You Smile!” is a celebration and exploration of happy moments, full of great songs, both old and new where the audience will be charmed to remember fond memories and share new ones. Classic songs from the American Songbook will merge with rediscovered findings and not so well-known songs, all bringing moments of joy and smiles. This is really a sophisticated “feel good show” and Kevin knows how to tell a story like very few performers. Marilyn Maye has provided musical arrangements for some of the songs.
